So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
–Genesis 1:27
Key #5 Correct Identification

The fifth key in the book the 100th human reveals to us the true connection we have with and to God. The symbol for the 5th Key is the powerful Tetragrammaton, which is the group of Hebrew letters for God (YHWH), spelled out in the shape of a man. It demonstrates to us where our most vital and correct identity resides. YHWH is the eternal I am - without beginning or end. We are all connected to, and part of this same source, whether we realize it or not. Our truest self is eternal also, and one with all that is. The doorway to that source, is in the ever-present moment.
Rabbi Zimmerman, the 5th gatekeeper in the book, shares with us the term Keter Consciousenss – our shared mind with God. Keter is the crown of man and though it rests on the head, it is not our intellect. It is the non-judgmental, ever-present opening to God. Correct Identification means we are continually aware and directed through this link. By experiencing Keter we can shift our consciousness to what is real, leaving the illusions of this world to fall away.
The challenge is to release our ideas of life, happiness, reality, ourselves and even God. The ideas themselves are less then what is real. When we release the ideas we can finally see and more appropriately Know the real thing.

“As humans, we continually identify with our physical world instead of our true identity as children of God. When we do this we identify with things. These things take on too much importance, they become our idols - we identify with what we have, what we do, or what others think of us. Our true identity is not any of those things. Man was made in God’s image. Unfortunately, most religions try to make God into man’s image. God is effable and we can only know God through direct relationship, communion and re-identification.”
“When we identify with man’s ideas, man’s things, we separate our consciousness from God consciousness, from Keter consciousness. We must sever or detach ourselves from this habit and re-attach our thoughts to God. This symbol is telling us to embrace the Keter and detach from the things of this world.”
-- Chapter 65

When we are identifying with the things of this world we must live in constant fear, strife, worry and dis-ease because the things of this world are temporary and finite. They all decay and die. We fight to hang on, to maintain, to cure such malady. But it is a useless fight, one that only perpetuates itself causing more harm and dis-ease within the very process. We must completely release the false ideas, thoughts and pressures to find eternal life and happiness. Life is more than one’s circumstances. Life is full and eternal.

“We are not victims of aging, sickness and death. These are part of scenery, not the seer, who is immune to any form of change. This seer is the spirit, the expression of eternal being.”
– Deepak Chopra

This does not mean that we should not work toward goals or pursue personal purpose. These are all part of our service to life, part of our reason for being here. However, when the pursuit overtakes us and lures us into thinking that this temporal life is all there is, we have gone off course. In American society we have come to revere things in a manner altogether unhealthy, causing severe unhappiness. We do not have to sell all we have to rediscover peace and happiness, but we must release our identity with these things, as what we are or what Life is. Release all outcomes, know who and what you truly are.

“The truth of who we are is much different and is based on one fact: We are connected to God, in ways we have yet to imagine, and in everyway we can imagine. To know this, is to know God. To know God, is to know yourself, because you were made in God’s image. When you know this completely, intimately and unequivocally, you release expectations, outcomes and will.”
“This does not mean we should cease to do things or not work toward goals. It only means that we ought not allow ourselves to become attached to the results of our labors. The result is the creation, the reflection. If we identify with the reflection we lose sight of our true nature.”
“We are the creators, not the creation. The creation is powerless and static. If we act from the level of a creation, we must impose great will and force. To force creates counter-force. This is why we have war. We live from force instead of power. Power comes from God. Our power comes from our connection to God. Force is what we do when we are not connected to true power. But if we detach and let go of outcomes, we release our addiction to force; then ultimately, we can embrace true power, the power of God.”
“The only place you will find God is in present moment awareness. This is Keter consciousness. It is Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh: I am that I am - the past, the present and the future are all contained in now. It is now that you have the power to change anything. The past is gone and the future is unwritten. Now is where all power resides. It is in the present moment that you can create your future and understand your past. Now is just another term for God.”

“…Pursue your dreams with passion. It means that in knowing that you were created in the image of God and connected to God at all times, you need not worry or fret, or attach your happiness to the results of those dreams. Your success is assured. You know that it is. Therefore you release it. This whole idea is very, very important. It actually could accelerate our evolution, because as we detach from the past - we are free to create our future. You have only to intend your dreams and goals, with complete clarity and passion, and then release them to the power of God; without any attachment to how it will look or feel or be. Because you know it will be perfect. Because God is perfect and because you know that you are made in God’s image.”
-- Chapter 65

How do we re-identify with what is real? We must release all our attachments to the things of this world. We must cease our idolatry and embrace truth. Truth and God, peace and happiness are found in each moment of life. Forget the past, you do not need it. Release the future it is only an idea. Embrace the here and now, find the vibrancy in Life. Re-connect your mind to the mind of God, re-identify yourself with who you really are, become Keter Aware! Become Correctly Identified! Three exercises to become Correctly Identified:

1. Discover how you identify yourself now. Ask yourself if you identify with these 6 ego/mind/temporal states:
a. I am what I do
b. I am what I have
c. I am separate from God
d. I am what others think of me
e. I am separate from everyone else
f. I am separate from what is missing in my life
2. Embrace the moment, your true being. Ask yourself as often as needed:
a. I wonder what my next thought will be? (This will cause a pause in the mind, and a moment to feel your true presence.)
b. In this moment, what is lacking? (If you are really being in the moment, the answer is always: nothing.)
c. Where am I right now? (Notice everything and everyone around you in the single moment. Your awareness should heighten exponentially and Life will glow for you.)
3. Observe yourself. This will allow you to become acquainted with the real you, not the idea of you that your mind is always feeding upon. Do this as often as possible. Watch yourself and then ask yourself: who is watching me?
